Job description

Ducat is a specialist logistics shipping and logistic rice firm with a focus in South Asia and West Africa. With over 10 years of trading and millions of tonnes of cargo handled yearly, Ducat combines technology, data, and operational expertise to move food commodities across the globe. We are the lead carrier of rice into West Africa.

We are looking to hire a Shipping & Trade Analyst to join our Analytics & Operations team in Limassol. This is an entry-level or early-career role for someone eager to learn, adapt, and grow within a fast-paced international shipping environment. The ideal candidate could be:

  • A recent graduate ready to start their career,

  • Someone with 1–2 years of professional experience, or

  • A career-changer from another industry looking for a fresh start.

What matters most is the ability to think analytically, learn quickly, and integrate into a tightly knit team culture where smart people collaborate to solve complex problems.

Key Responsibilities:

You will support the operations and analytics workflows of Ducat, including but not limited to:

  • Voyage Economics: Creation and update of voyage estimates; P&L reporting.

  • Data Management: Maintenance of IMOS data, fleet reports, and review of entries for accuracy, including revenues and expenses.

  • Cargo & Bunker Planning: Cargo bookings verification; bunker planning and booking; voyage routing and optimization.

  • Pre-Fixture Analysis: Research into local logistics and voyage costs.

  • Financial Workflows: Issuance of freight and other revenue invoices; review and approval of PDAs & FDAs.

  • Operational Support: Weather routing appointments, daily ops meeting notes, hire approval support, issuance of Charter Parties, and documentation for funding approvals.

  • Research & Analytics: Competitor vessel tracking, market research, and ad hoc analytical projects.

  • Compliance & Risk: Occasional compliance checks on vessels, legal analytics support, and monitoring of internal documentation for potential disputes.

  • Systems Support: Helping the team troubleshoot IMOS or other technical issues.

Job requirements

We are looking for someone who demonstrates:

  • A university degree (any analytical, numerical, business, law, or STEM field preferred, but not required).

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • A modern, intelligent mindset with curiosity and adaptability.

  • High attention to detail and accuracy in data handling.

  • Fluency in English (written and spoken). Additional languages (e.g. French) are a plus.

  • Ability to work under pressure, handle multiple tasks, and thrive in a team environment.

  • Previous experience in shipping, trade, or logistics is not required—we value aptitude, drive, and mindset above prior industry knowledge.

Why Join Ducat?

  • Work in a fast-growing international company at the heart of global food logistics.

  • Be part of a collaborative, tight-knit team where your ideas matter.

  • Exposure to real-world shipping operations and analytics from day one.

  • Grow your career in a company that values learning, curiosity, and intelligence over rigid experience.

  • Modern beachfront office in Limassol with a global impact.
