Shipping and Freight Operation

Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Coordinate Shipments: Manage the scheduling, booking, and coordination of incoming and outgoing shipments via sea, air, and land.

2. Prepare Documentation: Generate and process essential shipping documents including bills of lading, invoices, packing lists, and customs declarations.

3. Liaise with Carriers and Clients: Communicate with freight forwarders, shipping lines, customs brokers, and clients to ensure smooth cargo movement.

4. Track and Monitor Shipments: Use tracking systems to monitor shipment progress and resolve delays or issues as they arise.

5. Ensure Compliance: Verify shipments comply with international trade laws, customs regulations, and safety standards.

6. Manage Freight Costs: Obtain freight quotes, negotiate rates with carriers, and ensure cost-effective transportation solutions.

7. Handle Customs Procedures: Facilitate the customs clearance process by submitting required paperwork and responding to customs queries.

8. Maintain Records: Keep accurate records of all shipping transactions, cargo movement, and inventory levels for reporting and audits.

Qualifications:

A diploma or degree in logistics, supply chain management, business, or a related field.

2+ years of experience in shipping, freight forwarding, or logistics operations.

Proficiency with shipping software, Microsoft Office, and logistics tracking systems.

Strong written and verbal communication skills for effective coordination with clients and logistics partners.
