On behalf of our client, a reputable maritime company, we are seeking an Operations Officer. This role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to both the operations and legal aspects of our business, managing key documents as well as handling cargo claims. No prior shipping experience is required, but candidates should be quick to learn, detail-oriented, and ready to support critical functions in our operations and claims processes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Document Preparation: Accurately complete and process shipping documents, ensuring all required information is correct and aligns with associated files.
  • Cargo Claims Management: Assist in managing cargo claims, from receipt through to resolution, maintaining accurate claim records and databases.
  • Claims Calculations: Support in calculating the value of claims and preparing reports related to claim settlements.
  • Report Generation: Create regular reports for management to ensure transparency and efficiency in operations and claims handling.
  • Review and Verification: Ensure that draft documents and receipts match shipping and operational data.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with the operations and legal teams to ensure smooth documentation handling and claim processes.

Job requirements

  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to manage both routine tasks and more complex claims processes.
  • Strong organizational and database management skills.
  • Ability to learn new concepts quickly and work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Prior experience in an administrative or document-handling role is helpful, but not required.
