Job description
The Chief Commercial Officer (CCO) will be responsible for overseeing all commercial activities, including sales, marketing, customer experience, partnerships, and revenue growth, with a strong focus on promoting and expanding Sharia-compliant financial products. The CCO will drive business development, strategic partnerships, and product commercialization to ensure the institution’s market leadership in the non-bank financial services sector while adhering to Islamic finance principles. This executive will lead efforts to maximize revenue streams, enhance customer satisfaction, and build a strong, sustainable brand presence in the competitive financial market of Saudi Arabia.
Commercial Strategy & Leadership
• Develop and execute the overall commercial strategy for the institution, ensuring alignment with the company’s long-term goals and vision, including a specific focus on expanding Sharia-compliant products and services.
• Lead the sales, marketing, and business development teams to achieve revenue targets, market share growth, and the successful promotion of Sharia-compliant offerings.
• Monitor and assess the effectiveness of commercial strategies, adjusting as necessary to maximize results.
Customer Acquisition and Retention
• Oversee the development and implementation of customer acquisition strategies to attract and retain clients.
• Develop and execute customer retention programs focused on delivering superior service and value.
• Lead initiatives to improve the customer experience across all touchpoints, ensuring the institution’s products and services meet the needs of customers.
Product Development & Digital Innovation
• Lead the development and commercialization of new products designed for the digital landscape.
• Work with technology and compliance teams to ensure that all digital products and platforms are designed and marketed in full compliance with applicable regulations.
• Champion innovation in the digital space by leveraging the latest technologies (AI, and mobile tech) to create products that meet the needs of modern consumers.
Marketing & Brand Development
• Direct the institution’s marketing strategy, including digital marketing, traditional advertising, and brand positioning efforts, ensuring alignment with both financial and product offerings.
• Ensure the brand is effectively represented in the marketplace and resonates with target audiences.
• Collaborate with the marketing team to implement integrated campaigns that increase awareness and drive business growth.
Partnership & Strategic Alliance
• Identify and pursue alliances, and partnerships that align with the institution’s goals of expanding products and services.
• Negotiate and manage key strategic partnerships to drive commercial success and enhance the reach of the institution’s finance products.
6. Market Intelligence & Competitive Analysis
• Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and customer feedback to inform strategic decision-making.
• Conduct in-depth analysis of market dynamics and competitor offerings to identify opportunities and threats within the Sharia-compliant financial services sector.
• Leverage data to identify growth opportunities, optimize pricing strategies, and improve product offerings.
Leadership & Cross-functional Collaboration
• Collaborate with the CEO, senior management, and department heads to ensure alignment between commercial strategies and company-wide initiatives.
• Work closely with technology, and operations teams to ensure the successful commercialization and delivery of products and services.
• Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement across the commercial and business development functions.
Job requirements
• Saudi National status is required
• 15+ years of experience in senior commercial roles within the financial services sector, ideally within banking, non-bank financial institutions, or fintech.
• Proven track record of successfully driving revenue growth, market share expansion, and customer acquisition, with experience in Sharia-compliant product offerings.
• Strong experience in managing commercial teams, sales, marketing, and customer experience functions, with a focus on Islamic finance solutions.
• In-depth knowledge of the Saudi Arabian financial services market, including regulatory considerations and local business culture.
• Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
• Analytical and data-driven mindset, with the ability to assess market dynamics and adjust strategies accordingly.
• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Marketing, or a related field (MBA or other advanced degrees are a plus).
• Solid understanding of digital channels, marketing, branding, and customer experience strategies within the financial services industry.
