Job description
The primary purpose of the Financial Accountant role is to analyze and manage financial information to ensure the accuracy of financial reporting. The role involves preparing entries to accounts, documenting business transactions, and performing a variety of accounting functions to support the organization's financial health.
Reporting line
The Financial Accountant reports to the Accounts Manager.
Responsibilities:
Manage receipts, invoices, and payments for local and international suppliers, including Direct Debit forms.
Process supplier and customer invoices, payments, and accounting entries promptly.
Oversee stock adjustments and ensure alignment with warehouse controls.
Communicate with debtors for payment collection and follow up with creditors and debtors as needed.
Maintain and file accounting documents, send statements to customers, and prepare the annual budget.
Reconcile bank accounts, vendor accounts, and customer accounts monthly.
Handle utilities payments, daily credit note checks, and bank transfers or checks for payments.
Process Social Insurance and Provident Fund dues monthly and complete VAT forms for submission to authorities.
Maintain supplier agreements, company documentation, financial loans, legal, and insurance contracts.
Assist and provide backup for the Accounts Manager as required.
Create contracts, invoices for BigChange orders, and purchase orders for submission to the UK.
Prepare financial reports for management and make recommendations to improve productivity and quality.
Ensure proper stock control procedures are followed and execute additional tasks assigned by management.
Requirements:
Degree or equivalent (Business, Accounting or other)
Proficiency in Microsoft Office at an intermediate level.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access)
Ability to use internet resources effectively for research and communication
Solid understanding of accounting principles and processes
Master’s Degree in Accounting & Finance or equivalent (advantage)
CPA/ACA/ACCA Accounting Training (advantage)
A minimum of 2-3 years’ experience within an accounting department
Working knowledge and experience in tax planning
